Russell Budd leads a team of more than 50 lawyers and 200 support staff as President of Baron & Budd, P.C., a leading plaintiff’s law firm in the United States.

President of Baron & Budd since 2002, Russell Budd supervises the firm’s many activities such as representing more than 150 municipalities throughout the United States in addition to countless individual clients. Baron & Budd specializes in cases involving asbestos poisoning, class action suits, exposure to toxic substances, and financial fraud. The firm’s client base includes businesses and individuals affected by the Gulf Oil Spill, whistleblowers struggling to expose fraud, victims of online scams, and people stricken with asbestos-related lung diseases. In addition to winning compensation for its clients, Baron & Budd helped to define Arizona law regarding pollution. In recognition of its work on this Tuscon water contamination case, the legal organization Trial Lawyers for Public Justice awarded Baron & Budd’s legal team its Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2006.

In addition, the National Law Journal named Baron & Budd to its Hot List in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008. The designation recognizes firms for exemplary work in cases that result in potentially landmark rulings. The Legal 500 named Baron & Budd one of the nation’s top two law firms for toxic tort claims in 2008. Specifically, The Legal 500 called attention to Baron & Budd’s handling of water contamination and asbestos related cases.

In 2005, Russell Budd gave a presentation on multi-district litigation in Texas at the 28th Annual Advanced Civil Trial Course, hosted by the Texas Bar Association. In 2007, the American Association for Justice awarded Russell Budd its Wiedemann Wysocki National Finance Council Award for his efforts to improve the civil justice system and his commitment to the legal profession. Russell Budd works with several non-profits in the Dallas area, including the Dallas Faith Communities Coalition and the Dallas chapter of Habitat for Humanity. He is a member of the advisory board for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

Baron & Budd, P.C. works closely with clients to pursue monetary compensation for their harms. Since Baron & Budd, P.C. is a plaintiffs’ law firm and works on a contingency basis, so there is no cost to the client upfront, and the firm only gets paid when the attorneys achieve a successful outcome for the client.
