Tadalis is the generic equivalent if the brand named Cialis, which was approved by FDA in US in the year 2003. Tadalafil is the third ED prescription drug approved by FDA after Sildenafil citrate and Vardenafil. It the longest acting PDE-5 inhibitor.

What are the possible side effects

The most common side effects observed after taking Tadalis include headache, stomach discomfort or pain, indigestion, acid reflux, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects are minimal and they often subside after the drug is eliminated from the body.

What are the possible drug interactions

Since the active component Tadalafil may cause low blood pressure (hypotension) momentarily, a person should not take alkyl nitrites (poppers) for at least 48 hours after taking the last dose of Tadalis. Using poppers during this time period may enhance the risk of life-threatening hypotension.

The people who have consumed Tadalis within the last 48 hours cannot take organic nitrates to relieve angina, these patients should seek immediate medical attention if they experience chest pain.

How does it produce an action

Tadalis has the longest half-life among all ED generic medicines, which is about 17.5 hours and that contributes to its longer duration of action of 36 hours.

Penile erection during sexual stimulation is produced as a result of increased penile blood flow. The increase in the blood flow is caused due to the relaxation of penile arteries and the smooth muscle of the corpus cavernosum.

This response is facilitated by the release of nitric oxide (NO) from nerve terminals and endothelial cells, which stimulates the synthesis of cyclic guanosine monophosphate more commonly known as cyclic GMP or cGMP in smooth muscle cells.

cGMP is necessary for relaxation of smooth muscle and thus in turn increasing blood flow to the corpus cavernosum. The inhibition of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) improves the erectile function by increasing the amount of cGMP. Tadalis inhibits PDE5.

However, sexual stimulation is required to initiate the local penile release of nitric oxide, without it inhibition of PDE5 produced by Tadalis will have no effect.

Dose administered

Tadalis is available in the form of oral tablet. It contains 20mg Tadalafil as the active constituent. This medicine is to be taken as needed, at least 30 minutes prior to sexual intercourse. The action of Tadalis begins within 20 minutes and lasts for the duration of 36 hours.

Precautions to be taken

Take Tadalis with water. Take the medicine as directed by the physician. You should inform your complete medical history to your physician. Do not crush, break or chew the tablet. This medicine can be swallowed with or without food. Avoid drinking alcohol while on treatment with this medicine. This medicine is not recommended for men below 18 years of age.

Always remember that Tadalis is not an aphrodisiac and it will not produce any effect if a man is not sexually stimulated.

Thus, Tadalis is an effective medicine and the men can enjoy the long lasting sexual intercourse with this medication.
