There is a reason that many of us feel tired and generally low-spirited in January. Christmas has sapped all of our energy and rinsed our credit cards. There is nothing much to look forward to until spring when the next public holidays come around and it feels almost like everyone has just gone into hibernation. To make matters worse, almost all of us will have gained at least half a stone in mince pies and when combined with a serious lack of sunlight it leaves us feeling pretty unhealthy at this time of year.
For those people with the luxury of both time and money, January and February are the perfect time to disappear somewhere hot; say India, Thailand or even Australia. If you can then take two months away so when you return to the UK again, spring will be well on its way and the grim dark winter days will be over.
Most of us are not so fortunate but this does not rule out the possibility of a short break, which could make the world of difference to your physical and mental wellbeing. Don’t rule out a UK city break for a change of scene and a chance to explore somewhere new. January is a quiet time of year for most businesses so you could find yourself a fantastic deal if you shop around.
No matter what your usual holiday preferences are, there will be something to suit you. Whether you are looking for a crazy weekend away clubbing, an informative trip to museums and ancient ruins, a relaxing spa break with fine dining or a combination of all three then you will be surprised what a UK city break has to offer!
If you are concerned that taking a city break in the UK will mean lying down in a cheap chain hotel bed at the end of the day then think again. Although there are some great deals to be had with a budget hotel, why not pay a little extra and opt for the luxury of a boutique hotel? With amazing décor and impressive facilities, your stay in a boutique hotel will certainly be a memorable one. Many offer luxury rooms combined with quality restaurants and bars to make your stay even more special.
There are some fantastic deals to be had on boutique hotels at this time of year so why not treat yourself and take a well-deserved UK break with your partner, family or friends?
