Beer and bread are made from yeast. Therefore you do not really need to consume them as they increase the risk of an overgrowth. Men that drink beer will have some yeast on the tips of their penis. This can be passed on to the woman during sexual intercourse. Therefore the consumption of alcohol is not really recommended in yeast infection treatment diets.

Use 1 cup of sea salt in a bathtub of warm water. Soak the area affected by the yeast infection on a daily basis. This will help treat the yeast infection and sooth the itching and burning at the same time. Lactobacillus acidophilus has been shown to reduce yeast overgrowth in the vagina and in the intestines. Taking this supplement regularly will treat and prevent yeast infections.

There are women who swear by dipping a tampon in plain yogurt with active cultures in it and then inserting it into the vagina one or two times a day until the yeast infection clears up. Some women use tea tree oil and apply it the same way. There is also the garlic method which is to use a whole garlic clove, peeled and wrapped in cheesecloth, and then inserted into the vagina.

Use plain yogurt as a suppository to naturally cure your yeast infection. Yogurt contains lactobacillus acidophilus, which kills the candida. The best way to insert the yogurt into your vagina is by using the plastic tampon applicators. Fill them with yogurt and place them in the freezer. Once frozen, insert the yogurt. The cold yogurt will help soothe the burning caused by the yeast.

Sitz baths are a super way of cleaning and douching. Mix salt or vinegar (half cup) to a shallow bath and sit with knees apart. This relieves the itching sensation, and the result can be perceived almost immediately. When taken either before or after eating, chamomile tea stimulates hydrochloric acid (HCL) production in the stomach. HCL keeps the stomach healthy by preventing orally-ingested pathogens like bacteria and parasites from overwhelming the body and it prevents the overgrowth of fungi in the small intestine. Thus, chamomile tea both eliminates the excess fungi in the body and keeps the fungi at normal levels that, in turn, cures and prevents the recurrence of oral thrush. On the other hand, pau d’ arco tea resists the growth of fungi. This makes it ideal as a fungicide especially when taken in 2-3 cups daily.

Drink lots of water. Frequent water intake makes you urinate more frequently. Thus, the body is able to flush out the sugars that feed the yeast. A regular intake of water will also help prevent further infections from occurring.
Most of us can find relief by cutting out as much sugar as possible, since yeast grows on sugar. Eat lots of fresh veggies, along with small amounts of low-sugar fruits like strawberries, cherries, and papayas. Fish, chicken, and beef are good sources of protein, along with beans, lentils, and nuts. Corn, brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat, oats, and spelt are excellent choices for grains. Avoid wheat and rye. Try adding more cinnamon to your diet, as it’s a natural blood sugar regulator.
